Ashes in the Saddle Bags

Ashes in the Saddle bags March 30, 2012
Dear Lee,
So I promised you that I would take your ashes in your saddle bags to the church the day of your service. Your ashes came in a heavy plastic bag with a twist tie and this was in a cube shaped cardboard box.  Well saddle bags have 2 pouches and as you know we always packed our bags with even weight distribution.  I placed the heavy box on the kitchen counter and got a brand new Ziploc bag ready. Before I opened the bag of ashes I squeezed in the center to more or less divide the lot into 2 equal portions. I managed to untwist the tie and holding the center of the hour glass shape I tipped the top portion of the ashes over and they ran into the new bag. Successful! I dribbled a few ashes out onto the counter and swiftly swiped them up and added them to the new bag. There we go! Two more or less equal portions and into the saddle bags they go. They remain waiting there ready for the horseback to the church tomorrow.
Then I got the dish rag and cleaned the counter.
I cannot think of those ashes as LEE. They are her remains but they are not the Lee I know.  The Lee I know would laugh at this story.
